Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Charing Hill (Kent, England) mast?
UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

Can you tell me the best transmitter to try and get a signal from for Charing, Ashford, Kent. TN27 0AQ. We seem to get no signal at all where we live and are concerned that we will get no TV once the switch over happens.

Pip: The Digital UK postcode checker predicts that you should currently be able to receive at least four muxes from Dover (aerial set for horizontal polarisation and pointing at 105 degrees, slightly clockwise from E). After switchover the best prediction is for Heathfield with good reception shown for your postcode area on all six muxes after 13th June 2012. Aerials for Heathfield should point SW at 234 degrees and set for horizontal polarisation. Reception from Dover after 27th June 2012 shows a slight deterioration for Mux ArqA. Remember that predicted reception is subject to there being no local obstructions such as trees or tall buildings blocking the signal path.

Mrs walker: put your postcode into the site, and it will tel you if the transmitter has a problem. But if your getting no signal, thats almost certainly YOUR system thats at fault.
