Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Caradon Hill (Cornwall, England) mast?

UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

Hi.
Can you tell me if there is a problem with DAB transmission at the moment.
I have a DAB receiver in my van which has been working fine until last week when reception became extremely patchy especially in the mid Cornwall area.
This has happened before and lasted for a week or so and then things went back to normal.
I'd like to know if there's a problem with transmission as if not, i'll have to assume my DAB unit is dodgy.
Thank you.

Sheila Beesley: The most likely explanation is that you have a fault somewhere in your aerial system. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see the predicted coverage at your location.

why does the signal from caradon mast keep stalling, for approx 1 second every ten or fifteen minutes the picture freezes, its not my tv its new.i can see the mast from my house 7 to 8 miles.and exactly the same thing happens with my sons tv 20 miles away in the saltash tamar bridge area.

t j cole: The most likely explanation is that you have a central heating system with a thermostat kicking in. It's quite common for these two be a simple electrical device that causes a tiny spark every few minutes. The tiny spark is basically a small radio transmitter.
