Radio Sputnik

Radio Sputnik is a public digital radio station radio. UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

Robert: Radio Sputnik appears to have ceased broadcasting on the London 2 DAB multiplex since 23:59 on Friday night. Nothing posted on their Twitter since then either.

StevensOnln1: Much sought-after DAB digital radio capacity has become available in London following changes on the London II multiplex.

The removal of Radio Sputnik at the end of last week and a small reduction in bitrate for Chris Country at the beginning of the month has created space for up to three new DAB+ stations or one stereo 'original flavour' DAB station in the capital, according to multiplex operator Switchdigital, who are inviting interested parties to get in touch.

Switchdigital's London II covers most areas surrounding London in addition to the capital and outside of the small-scale DAB trial in central London is the only local multiplex to support the newer DAB+ broadcasting standard, which is supported by most modern digital radio sets. Late last year, Asian FX became the first station to use DAB+ on the multiplex.

Multiplex monitoring website digitalbitrate.com shows how the capacity has become available in the past few weeks.

Radio Sputnik, Russia's international station, formerly known as Voice of Russia, was removed from the London II multiplex overnight from the 13th to 14th January 2017.

I am trying to trace the schedule of Sputnik UK radio broadcast today on the internet between about 6 and 8.30 am - I want a link to the Worlds aaprt program that was about diet and diabetes and I only half heard - it possibly has also been broadcast on RTV but so far I cannot find the details on the Sputnik radio website.

As this site came up & invites polite questions - I thought I would try my luck.

Thank you if you can help.

Andrew S Hatton:

I can't find anything. I assume the website you know is Sputnik News Radio | Listen to radio online streaming | Podcasts
They have podcasts, maybe the programme you want is on a podcast?
They have a twitter account @SputnikInt you could try asking there, or via their feedback page Feedback - Sputnik International
