Below are all of Vinny's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.OK, thanks Brian. The problem set has this morning managed to tune in to Mux53, but channels are heavily pixelated and unwatchable. The TV reports the signal quality and level for this Mux as fluctuating between Poor/None and Maximum/Nil respectively. Don't understand why it's just the one set having problems.

Angelina Hadlington: I presume you are paying for a TV licence to save yourself from being prosecuted for not having one. More info available at tvlicensing.co.uk.
Quite ironic that the word 'yesterday' is underlined - it's one of those 'rubbish free channels' (UK History - who would want to see THAT?)!
When did the 'proper' 5 channels stop broadcasting rubbish?

Thanks Mike.
It all worked fine before this latest DSO action. The previous 53 & 57 muxes had been a bit flakey in the past, especially 57, but had been good as gold for many months (I'd assumed some tweaking at the transmitter end had improved matters there). As I said, I tried hooking-up an already-retuned FV box in the same room - which involved adding even more coax cable to the same run - and it worked fine, even performed a full re-tune, no problem, with signal reported as good. I could try taking the TV off its wall bracket, and try it in another room, and/or try running a temporary coax from another room, in order to ascertain the problem. Hopefully, the September DSO will eventually sort it out, or maybe a magical transmitter tweak in the meantime will fix it!?

And now, it works. MUX53 coming through loud & clear on my other set. Must have been one of them transmitter tweaks, cos it's nowt I've done.

To be fair, Dusty, I did notice the signal level indicator for MUX53 on my TV was definitely showing higher towards the end of last week, then back down since. Maybe some testing taking place? The full crank-up is due tomorrow, so that should sort out some issues - and possibly even create a few too!

Following DSO Part Deux, 6 of our 7 Freeview devices have retuned perfectly. The other one, a Hitachi 19in LCD TV, previously working perfectly, now flatly refuses to tune into MUX53/ArqB (reported as MUX53/ArqA in note above). Have connected one of our FV Boxes to the same RF source, and it works perfectly, including full retune. Am wondering: 1) whether TV is part of the 'problem' group that will no longer work properly, and/or 2) whether it will be sorted in the next DSO phase in September? Any clues? Ta
