I have Sky multiroom, Sky in one room and Sky+ in the other.
I have had both for several years.
Neither box was provided free from Sky but purchased from a private installer.
I am an elderly widow and I cannot afford to keep up my sky subscription.
From reading previous posts, can I please check the following -
If I stop my sky subscription but still want the option of all or most of the channels I have now, do I need to buy a Freeview or Freesat box?
If yes, what happens to my viewing ie which channels will I not be able to view?
Do I also need to keep my Sky boxes and cards?
Will I still be able to re-wind, pause live tv etc?

Sorry to be a bit dim. Please can you keep any answers simple, please?

Many thanks

Briantist, thank you so much for your speedy reply.

Another daft question - If I go ahead and buy a Freesat+ box, is there a way I can still watch channels which aren't free to view eg Sky sports?

Daft, dafter, daftest question -
Can I pay Sky to watch the Premium channels without having a monthly Sky subscription?

Briantist
So sorry, after all that I find that Freeview is not, nor likely to be, available in my area!

Is there any other alternative which will save me money but still let me have most of what I have already with Sky Plus?

Brian, I was almost tempted to write back using a different name I am so embarrassed! My brain was obviously selective and I only read "Freeview". I am now completely confused by the difference between the two.

Upgrading from Sky to Freesat | Freesat

If I change from Sky to Freesat HD, does where I live have any affect on the number of channels I can receive?
Many thanks

I will re-phrase my question.
I understand that with Freesat I may not get all the channels, depending on where I live. Is it possible to know in advance which channels I will or won't get, or at least what percentage of channels I will be able to receive?

I am about to stop paying my sky subscription and buy a freesat plus box.
Is there ANY way I can still get Sky sport?

I am looking for a Freesat + HD box.
Argos charge approx £250 for a Humax. Is that an average price?
