I live in Melksham and receive my TV pictures from Mendip. I have a loft mounted aerial. I can get all channels on my Samsung TV but i can only get BBC Progs (CH61) via my Panasonic HDD Recorder. I find this strange as the main aerial feed goes via the Panasonic Recorder!! I have tried clearing the channel list on the Recorder and have retuned either by Strongest Signal or Area Signal and Manually but to no avail. Anyone any ideas please?

Brian, I have taken your advice i.e. plugged main aerial feed into the TV instead of the Panasonic HDD and the TV reception worked as normal i.e. i could receive all available Freeview channels. I then ran the main aerial feed back into the Panasonic HDD again, and retuned and hey presto i got 'most' of the channels back all but COM6/ARQB/CH67, which is typical as recording Film4 films is what i do most of!! Is there any reason why i can't still get COM6/ARQB/CH67? When i try a manual retune of that channel the Panasonic HDD shows that this channel has a very poor signal strength compared to the others. Your advice is much appreciated.

I have at last solved the problems tuning my Panasonic HDD Recorder. After months of frustration i finally got around to retuning the HDD via the aerial feed in my bedroom, which runs off of a seperate aerial and lead. The HDD tuned in perfectly. I re-connected the HDD downstairs and again had very bad reception/loss of signal. It wasn't until i wiggled the aerial coax input that i found the picture got bad then better. To cut a long story short, i cut about a foot off of my lead, attached a new coax plug and hey presto all channels are now tuned and functioning correctly. Thanks for all your advice!

After Mendip retune on January 11th i have all the channels on my TV but can only get channels attributed to CH54 and CH61 on my DVD Recorder (Panasonic DMR-EX???). Which is odd as the aerial goes into the TV via the DVD Recorder so you would've thought it would have been the other way round i.e. weaker tuning on TV rather than DVD Recorder. I have a horizontally loft mounted aerial that works perfectly for all the other TVs in the house. Any ideas anyone??
