Hey Adrian,
Just a thought have you been to the police or trading standards.
It might be worth paying someone a £25 call out to come round and get a full price to put everything right in writing that you can keep in a draw just in case you do end up being taken to court.
Fair enough it's your word against 3 of them but if you have an independent company telling you it's bad work on paper that's got to be better than an eye witness.
Also if you do pay someone else to sort agree a price and please try and make every effort you can to give the equipment that the original aerial bodgers used back to them.
The last thing you want as you have refused to pay them (which if it was a family member of mine I would have stopped the cheque too just out of spite, ileagal or not. Fair play) trying to charge you for their own gear.
Even if you drive to their office and leave it in the door step just take a picture and drive off.
The courts can be a nasty thing, the last thing you want is them on your back buddy.

Hey buddy if you are worried about getting a freeview reception, it may be cheaper by the time you have paid for in worst cases
20ft pole
Good bracketry to support
Good aerial
Mast head amp etc
Why not look into freesat unless there Is a tree or something in line of sight you will get pretty much the same freeview channels.
Best of luck

Hey steve
Hope the problem is sorted for you now if not have you tried a simple signal booster.
Banbury has a lot of weak signal area's
I hope the aerial is not loft mounted where you are as this can make it worse
Best of luck

It is prefered to fit to a rear chimney if you have one so that it can not be seen from the road or in main view of other houses.
generally a garden mount or a hidden dish install is better as you will always get one old person that is older than the house itself complain to the council about it.
all the best
