Tom,
You are right buddy, i install digital equipment in and around oxford, well known for being one of the most expensive area's in the country to live.
I charge installed including cable, bracket and benchmark digital aerial £99 no vat.
I get loads of comments a day about some of our freindly neighbours charging £250-£300 for the same job. Even though they quote £49 over the phone to get on site.
Its amazing that people are willing to put up with these charges, and yet it is me that is struggling to get the customers.
Think i need to pack up sticks and come and join you lot up there, you are more honest.

hey Hadleigh
1st its silly but sky use a twin core cable for there installs it may look like one cable coming in but maybe 2.
(its worth a look)
2nd take a look at the sky dish has it only got one port on it.

if you do only have one port just call a local company, and tell them you need a quad lnb fitted and a twin cable run.
tell them the rough distance of the cable run and you should be able to get an exact price over the phone not an estimate. (important)

3rd i would suggest when you consider getting it done having the original cable run replaced at the same time.
it only has a limited life span and will cost you an extra call out should there be a problem with it in the future.
i.e
water in cable
animal bite
or any other number of reasons

best of luck

Hey Laura you can get an octo lnb fitted to hold all 3 boxes and more. Not sure what you are wanting the 2m of cable for is it from the dish to new box. Any ways octo lnb depending on who fits £40 to £120 installed plus the cable run.

hey tom fletcher
you was on about rougue traders, went on a call out the other day, they where charged just over £200 for a new aerial.
2 weeks later he call up the aerial company and said the signal had gone, they attended and said that where they had used the existing cable it was full of water and charged him another £60 to replace.
i cannot put the amount of swear words he used on here.
but the house had been put there in the late 70's so the cable was over 30 years old.
they where lucky he was ab old boy because i would have kicked up a storm with the papers and internet.
a new cable run if possible should come as standard for a digital aerial refit dont you think buddy.

hey michelle
does it say no signal or on satellite signal.

basically nor calling you stupid far from it i promise only trying to help x

scart lead comes on av1 or av2 you are now useing hdmi try switching to the extra av channels using your remote.

top tip
sky fault screens in blue
tv fault screens in black

i hope this helps and solves problems if not try box reset procedures i.e system reset or full house reset. but you might loose recordings with these.

hey dagame,
check with the council first or if you have a landlord as they may not want the signal cable drilled through the internal walls.
generally if ok in living room just get a splitter or booster and run a cable through yourself.
if not allowed the holes flats arnt that big why not get an av sender and use the same box in the living room and send the signal through to your bedroom no hassels.

Cheers Andrea and Dave
Nice to see my beating others prices here in Oxford is upsetting people funny how they are logging on the same time on 2 separate days.
What u quote over the phone is £99 full install and that is what I stick to unless they need something bigger, I have been installing and working in the tv reception area since I was 17 and have never had another job so even though I don't pay CIA or do I pay rdi for a piece of paper each year I have done every heights and signal course needed with full nearly 15 years experience in my area and again cheers it's nice to know other people get upset when I undercut them they are upset.
Also any comment on my site is 1 hundred percent accurate and if any customer wishes to see written proof as it says on my site I will provide it.

Cheers again
