We have line of site to the Llanrhaeadr YM transmitter, which is about 2 miles distant. The BBC Wales channels disappeared on the 7 Sept when the Fenton switchover started. The aerial is pointed at LYM not Fenton, but I assume picks up a strong signal from the side as we now get English channels on C24 and C27, as well as Welsh channels on C49, but no longer any C45.
I'm going into Llanrhaeadr today (my once-a-year visit) so will ask if anyone else has had same problem.

Yes other people in Llanrhaeadr have also lost BBC Wales since Central went digital.
Should I contact mast owners ITV Daybreak?

Thanks for that extremely clear explanation Mike: As you say, Freesat seems the best solution for the present.
I will put a request in our community newspaper asking for people with a similar BBC Wales reception problem to get in touch, and if enough interest, pursue the self-help relay route for a long term solution.
Thanks again for your help
