Can someone from the BBC explain why their service from Beacon Hill and its repeaters, especially Brixham have consistently lower signal levels than any of the ITV and other commercial groups. Also, why their service is constantly suffering from breakup whilst again none of the ITV channels suffer interference. Is it simply a case that here in the West Country we don't count as far as the BBC is concerned.
As I said once before, if you can't provide a proper service, get some 5 year olds in to run your services!
Incidentally, the Beacon hill transmitter has no problems according to tis website. You could've fooled me!

Hi,
I live in Higher Brixham , with a clear line of sight view to Beacon Hill. My antenna is mounted outdoors on my roof.
However, practically every evening starting anytime between 18:30 to19:30, and lasting for up to two hours I get severe picture breakup with occasional lost of signal on the BBC channels on C60. Non of the other channels are affected, i.e. ITV etc.
I have a 4G filter in place between the antenna and my distribution amplifier. The interference does not coincide with any appliances being used in my home.
Can anyone suggest the cause of this interference or provide me with someone who would be able to locate the source of this interference.
A friend who lives nearby also has this problem.

I am in total agreement with Robert lee regarding so called background music on documentaries. It is usually un necessary and drowns out the presenter's commentary. Not only that, whoever choses the music is either tone deaf or obsessed with drums. Cut it out BBC. If watchers want documentaries, it's because they're interested in the subject. If they want music there are plenty of music programs on the TV and Radio!

It's started again!!! After a Summer with no interference on the BBC channels, it is now back. Picture breakup, impossible to watch or listen too. I have a clear line of sight to Beacon Hill only 5 miles away. My antenna is mounted well away from mains or other types of potential interference. My post code is TQ5 0Dy. I have a 4G filter on my distribution amplifier. I have retuned more times than I have had hot dinners. Why can't the BBC provide a decent and clear interference free service all the year round.
I'm sick and tired of complaining about this and getting no replies that offer an apology or useable advice.

hello
Like Geohhrey Brian Tucker since the apparent station retune, I have retuned all my TVs and recorder and the pictures are totally unviewable. I'm now reduced to watching on BBCiplayer, which is not ideal. I have an outdoor antenna with an unobstructed view of Beacon Hill abut 5 miles away. I can't even get any BBC channels now with the latest retune. I was advised to reset my TV to factory settings and then retune again. That didn't work. It seems to me that the retune by BBC (to accommodate 4G. ?) was an unmitigated disaster. All my TVs were working perfectly well before with no interference and good quality as one would expect given my location (Brixham). Quite frankly, if this is the best the BBC can do they should refund all our licences and get some 5 year olds in to run their systems
