Below are all of Howard Moore's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.I have read that some people will have their FREEVIEW digital terrestial television reception disrupted after the introduction of new 4G mobile telephone services. It seems that some will be compelled to fit filters to their television aerials, some will have to switch to either cable or satellite services, and some will have severe difficulty in obtaining any form of television provision. Is there any way that I can find out if I and my local area will be affected by these developments?

I currently receive FREEVIEW from the
WINTER HILL transmitter. Is it possible to predict - at this present date - if my FREEVIEW signals will suffer interference from the proposed new 4G transmissions? If I am forced to abandon Freeview will I have a choice between FREESAT or cable services. (It is my understanding that VirginMedia cable services ARE available in my area, and I would prefer cable to satellite reception.) In such a situation would the holder of the local relevant 4G licence be responsible for making the relevant payments DIRECT to VirginMedia, or would that responsibility fall upon myself?

Dave Lindsay (4.2.2013). Thank you, but that is disappointing news. I am aware that some channels which are available via FREEVIEW - and which I like to watch - are not available on the FREESAT service. I can only hope that my Freeview reception from the WINTER HILL transmitter is NOT disrupted by the introduction of 4G.

Stockport
I am having major problems in receiving certain Freeview channels from the Winter Hill transmitter. The digital channels which are transmitted on UHf channel 55 (including Film 4. Magic-Radio and Smooth Radio) are frequently unobtainable, sometimes for weeks on end. I even from time-to-time have a similar problem with the B.B.C. channels which are transmitted digitally on UHF channel 62. All the other channels are generally fine.
Does anyone have any idea what might be the cause of problem, please?
Many thanks,
Howard Moore
