My Freeview box has just updated the channel list and I now have ITV4.
Yes now ITV4 is a national channel.
Surprised they didn't pick ITV3 to be national, but thank God they didn't add ITV2+1,
as we have enough single multi-transmitted channels.
EG. ITV1, ITV1 HD and ITV1+1 all show the same programs.

By National, I mean it is on a public service broadcast multiplex. (Freeview Light)

I have just worked out how they can do this and it will only cost them the price of a video recorder and video cassette.
1; Record the BBC national news at 6pm to 6:30pm
2; Move the Reporting Scotland news program from 6:30pm to 6pm
3; At the end of Reporting Scotland (Now at 6:30pm), play the recording of the BBC National news.
More people will be back from work at 6:30pm, to watch the MAIN news.

Re: JS
What if there is some free space on a transponder, but not enough for a HD channel.
On Freeview, Film 4 +1 is on BBC B (PSB3) HD multiplex.
If it was on a COM transponder then only some people could receive it.
It's cheaper to buy a HD box, than to move to an area where you can receive a COM transmission signal.
With Freesat/satellite, I suppose one day they may have less room for all the channels and squeeze a few SD channels on HD transmitters.

Paul Bale:
When BBC 3 closes down next year, they may move BBC 4 HD to the National BBC B HD multiplex. (Replacing BBC 3)
Or you could get a Freesat box and satellite dish.
Some of the UKTV channels are starting on Freesat this month, so you don't need a Sky subscription to view them.

I noticed a new channel from or before Thursday on Freeview.
It's on channel 100, but it gets a bit boring after watching it for a few hours.
100 = Freeview Information (Multiplex D3+D4)

The all channels page.
If I click on 'Show everything' or 'Just on Freeview' or 'Just on Freesat' or 'Just on Sky'
the page reloads and always shows 'Show everything'?
I've tested it with Windows 7 and Windows 10.
Also, could you add an option to 'Just on Freeview basic' as well
as 'Just on Freeview' shows all the Com multiplexes' that are not available.
You could also add a tick box to display or hide the HD channels and channels like Film 4 SD that requires a HD box.
