Below are all of David Taeger's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Thank you Mike. Yes.Multiplex 2 is the problem. Is Guildford transmitter new this week ? Everything has been fine for some years now with just occasional problems and usually only lasting for a few hours. This now seems a permanent problem over the last 3 days. Would a manual retune (rather than an Auto retune) only selecting Hannington Channels, help resolve the problem ?

Prior to and since switchover, all freeview channels have worked well from Hannington but in the last 3 days Com 5 and Com 6 are playing up. When watching 'Dave' for example, the picture can freeze or break up or vanish completely. All other channels continue to work well. Any thoughts on what may be the problem ?

Update on reception problems. No signal at all on Com5 and Com6 today. Same for other friends in the Yateley area. Retune did not help as all channels on those two COMS vanish completeley. All other COMS still working well. There is clearly a problem as all Freeview has been working well since switchover untill this occured.

Further update. Contacted Digital UK and they say that Channel 44 is not now broadcasting in my area (Yateley,Hampshire)and that Channel 47 has variable output. They can only suggest waiting until April updates. They give no reason why the service had declined so badly. Worse now than before switchover. Also strange that Hannington continues to say 'No reported problems' even though we know and Digital UK confirms, that there are big problems.

Further update from Digital UK: Chanels 41 and 44 no longer working in many areas served by Hannington as they are now being used by Crystal Palace until 4th April. Also Channel 47 on very low power until April 4th. So, many people served by Hannington have been suffering in order to maintain analogue services to Crystal Palace until their 4th April swichover. Cannot find out who made this decision but bottom line is that those affected on Hannington will have to wait until April 4th to get good reception again on Channels 41,44 and 47.

Thanks Mike. I only reported what Digital UK told me so it sounds like they do not know what they are talking about !!!
Their website and the person that called me from Digital UK both say that we will get full service, meaning all the channels we have been used to, and good reception on all of them from April 4th onwards. Let's hope they are right about that peice of information !!!

Hello. I get very good Freeview from Hannington transmitter. I am located in Yateley, Hampshire, GU46 6ES.
I have seen a number of news reports that suggest that the new 4G mobile service may have a detrimental effect on Freeview signals in many parts of the country but they are never specific. Do you happen to know if Hannington and my area, is likely to be affected ? Many thanks.

Yateley
For the past 3 days Channel 43 has been very poor. Analogue and all other freeview channels are fine. I have 4 TVs. I retuned 2 of them and neither will even find channel 43. The 2 I did not retune still have channel 43 but with poor reception. Freeview has generally worked well for some years now. I am on Hannington. This is the longest period I have experienced of such poor reception (no reception) on this channel. My postcode is GU46 6ES. Other friends nearby are having the same issues.Could help please ? Many thanks.
