David: OK,Thanks, will experiment with by-passing the signal boost although at the moment, with the short co-axial from the socket to the TV taped up on the back of the TV, for some peculiar reason, seems to work.

Crewkerne
I am in Crewkerne, have a powered antennae with line of sight to mendip 27 miles away.
I receive every freeview channel 5/5 except ITV which has some peculiar habit in that it pixilates or is not available unless I tape the coaxial (5ft) cable to the top back side of the TV when it works perfectly.
I have this on my present TV and also had it on the previous one. The coaxial connections are fine as evidenced by the fact that every other channel has a strong signal. Can anyone suggest why only re-positioning the coaxial cable between the socket and the TV makes ITV work when none of the other channels are affected
