Zimmy: If you are watching cable tv the radio stations will continue to broadcast on their usual channels.It is only viewers to Freeview services in Scotland who will lose the radio stations during the hours that BBC Alba is on the air. This is due to there being no spare capacity on MuxBBCA to slot in extra channels.

Mr Keith Russ: You need a Freeview box or TV receiver which is able to support DVB-T2 signals in order to view the Freeview HD channels. If your TV is "HD ready" it has to be connected to a suitable HD source in order to display HD pictures.

Wilf: The available signal from Stckland Hill is subject to changes as switchover progresses in other regions and on the continent. At present the Digital UK postcode checker shows reception of Mux ArqB to be poor, however on 18th April 2012 it shows an improvement to variable.Even if you are unable to receive it now I would expect reception to be possible after that date using a good quality group A receiving aerial.

Geoff Critcher: If you currently have good analogue reception you can expect good digital reception on the PSB muxes from switchover (8th February and 22nd February 2012) when the digital coverage is expected to match the current analogue service area, and will use the frequencies currently used by the analogue transmissions. Com muxes adopt post DSO frequencies at switchover but have to wait until 4th April and 18th April 2012 for final power increases. The present digital transmissions have coverage restrictions to protect analogue services from Guildford, and in some locations could suffer from interference from Guildford.

Liz:If the HD digibox has an RF loop-through connect the aerial to RF/ANT IN on digibox, then a lead from ANT OUT to the aerial socket on the TV. If the digibox does not have aerial out facility you will have to use a splitter to connect the aerial to both the digibox and the TV. Connect a scart lead from digibox to VCR and another from VCR to TV. Also connect a HDMI cable from digibox to TV for viewing content in HD.

ANNE MOIR:Have you done a factory reset to clear the channel list, followed by a scan for channels? As from 6am today (1st June 2011) BBC1 and BBC2 are carried on Mux BBCA on C27. You will need to do another retune on 15th June 2011 for stage 2 of the switchover.

Stephen Massie: Check that your receiver is not on the list of equipment that does not support the 8k mode. If it is listed you will need to use a freeview box to receive post switchover channels. If you have amplification on your signal it might now be too strong on C27. Reducing the gain, removing the amplifier or using an attenuator would offer solutions in this case.

Neville Wake: You will need to do a factory reset to clear the channel list of any memory of BBC1 on the old Mux1 frequency if that still remains in position 1. If you continue to get BBC1 stored in the 800s with a non working version in position 1 it will be because a weak signal from a distant transmitter is being found and stored during the scan in addition to the required signal. Doing a manual tune for the correct frequencies, after first clearing the channel list, restores channel storage in the correct LCN slots.

Lee:The Digital UK postcode checker predicts reception from The Wrekin to be slightly better than S/C both now and after September when full power is to be used on all muxes at both transmitters.
