Below are all of Kev's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.I currently have a class A horizontally polarised aerial picking up freeview from Rowridge along with a diplexer (switching at c38) connected to a vertically polarised aerial to pick up analogue from the Poole transmitter (which I can physically see.. the analogue from Rowridge is bad).
After the switchover I guess this will still work, but would it be sensible switching my Rowridge aerial to vertical polarisation to get the higher power or leave as-is..?

Thanks Mark.. Yeah it's a group a (not class a pointing at rowridge).. Guess I'll best just wait and see how things work out, but if power or quality lacking, I'll try realigning it vertically. BH15 3RH by the way.. My aerialpoints at rowridge to the left of constitution hill.. Luckily.. Figured out using Google earth :)

Interesting issue with my ondigital tv.. can pick up all but the new (moved) BBC mux, which has moved to an 8k signal...
I have the Philips 32dw9625 which on this site says does not support 8k, but the spec says it supports DVB COFDM 2k/8k ..?
Are all the muxes moving to 8k? I had read that some TVs cannot support both 'at the same time'...
Any ideas? I know I can easily get a box and plug that in, just interested from a tech perspective why it's not working.

Tim, do you get decent signal strength/quality on C21? Sorry I don't have access to an HD tuner.
If you have only a strength reading and 0 quality, it would sound like an incompatibility. If both are reasonable values (compared to say C24) then would either imply incompatibility or they're not txing yet.. Maybe someone else with an HD tuner has or hasn't had any luck???

For interest, I'm on the fringe for Rowridge (due to a hill in the way); I use a diplexer into a masthead amp to combine RR & Poole Transmitters.. and then feed the output from that through my V+ box (so I can see VM TV on all TVs)..
Here are the details of _my_ signal levels, just thought it may be of interest or use to someone. This is on a £18 scart_stb. My Samsung TV appears to only currently pick up a subset of these as I stated earlier...
Also I have no idea what's transmitting on C45(!)
ROWRIDGE
C21 - [HD]
C24 57% 88%
C27 55% 81%
C30 46% 68%
C33 45% 60%
C37 44% 65%
TXER ???
C45 46% 70%
POOLE
C50 53% 93%
C53 53% [HD]
C57 56% 95%

Thanks for that - yeah Luscombe Valley looks the likely culprit :) - right in line with the aerial!

Out of interest, the "Transmission Frequencies After Wednesday 21st March 2012" towards the top of the page don't appear to match the "Freeview Multiplex List" channels?
This adds to an already confusing situation :(

Ah.. Thanks Mike,, that now makes more sense :) so it's the post 'April 18th' situation.. is there no end to this retuning ;-)

Poole
Well I have a mixture of DAB and FM radios in my house - and DAB sounds way too compressed - although it is very clear (if you can live with the delay if you have an FM radio playing in one room and DAB in another(!).
But.. virtually everyone has FM radios in their houses, cars, garages and the government's plan to switch it off is dictatorial to say the least; many people just cannot afford to replace radios at the whim of MPs. It's just another money-making exercise - trying to use the technology before it's ready - Digital-TV being another one...
