Sarah C:
It looks like the power increase that has just taken place at the transmitter has done the trick for you.
However, I wouldn't pay too much attention to the signal bars for strength and quality as these vary a great deal from device to device. Time and viewing will tell over the next few days if all is now OK, but I suspect it is.
Happy (and reliable) viewing,
Adam.

There is probably an option which says something like "scan automatically for updates" or something along those lines. If you have a look for something like that in the various menu options, you will probably be offered the chance to turn off that particular setting.
Hope this helps,
Adam.

Congratulations Brian!
This site really has been a godsend to myself and countless other people. It offers help and advice that is without peer, and puts to shame the official bodies who have been charged with managing the transition from analogue to digital.
Here's to the next ten years,
best wishes,
Adam.

Channel number to MHz conversion:
Multiply by 8 and then add 306.
Example CH46
46 * 8 = 368 then + 306 = 674 MHz.

All OK in Totternhoe, perfect/reliable signal at all times. It could be something more local to you (new building work, local interference, etc), or a problem with your setup, which is probably the most likely cause. Is is possible that your aerial moved in the high winds and is still blowing about, hence the variability of your signal. It is probably worth checking with a neighbour to see if a local problem is the cause. If your neighbours are OK, it's probably your setup that needs investigating further.
Hope this helps,
Adam.

Although Ch 59 filters are available from some retail outlets, Ch 60 filters are not. Given that some large coverage transmitters (Belmont, Oxford, etc) use Ch 60, this could be a problem for many households if at800 only sends one filter per household. For retail customers, at800 on their website only advises where to buy Ch 59 filters. I have been told that Ch 60 filters could be three times more expensive when available due to LTE issues. I phoned at800, and they didn't really have an answer, although the contact I spoke to said she would inform at800 management. Unless this issue is soon resolved, households with more than one TV could have problems.
Just wondered if you had any thoughts on this
Cheers,
Adam.

Many thanks!
I think there could be interesting times ahead for people in Ch60 reception areas!
It will be interesting to see when high street retailers start to stock Ch60 filters, and what the public reaction to the price will be.
Cheers,
Adam.

The reason you get problems starting each year in May is possibly due to the large trees near you coming into leaf. If one of these trees is directly between you and the transmitter this could be the cause. However, as Dave Lindsay says, once the power is increased, this should be much less of an issue.
Hope this helps,
Adam.
