I have checked the transmitters and I should be receiving signal from Sutton Coldfield - which is the is in the direction of the aerial. We have only moved into the house a few weeks ago, and this is all we have known and haven't changed anything.
It is an external area but as we moved not that long ago, I don't know how old it is, and I'm not sure how old the coax cable I'm using is. Maybe about 5 years old, but it has no damage. I get beuse a splitter between the box and the coax, because if I don't then I receive no channels/signal into the box at all.
The lead I'm using between the aerial socket to the box is a 3c-2v 75 OHM cable, and no I don't have another cable to swap out and check. But like I say, it works fine directly into the tv, it stops working when it is plugged into the box.
I haven't received any restoretv postcard, and there is a HDMI lead out of the same box the coax is going into but it isn't particularly close. Again, the HDMI lead is not too far away when the cox is plugged directly into the TV.
In terms of signal strength, they are about 70-80% with quality of about 60-65% for ITV1. 75-80% strength and 60-65% quality for the remaining channels in the multiplex.
Any insight would be most helpful. Thank you.

Hello,
I'm struggling to get the BBC channels (or multiplex) to come through onto our box. If the coax is plugged into the TV from the aerial point directly, then I receive all the Freeview channels. However when I take it out and plug it into the box, I don't receive anything other than the PSB2 multiplex. If I then connect a splitter between the coax and the box, we sometime will get an extremely patchy reception to the BBC channels.
None of the self-help guides I can find on the internet seem to work. So any pointers would be most welcome (:
