Really to replace Dave Ja Vu on Freeview
From August 2, Dave Ja Vue, the Dave+1 channel, will be replaced by the UK TV Channel "Really".
Really will show US programmes like Tool Academy and Celebrity Rehab, and UK programmes like Snog, Marry, Avoid and Bizarre ER.
Really will join Yesterday and Dave to make three UKTV Freeview channels.

I like Quest. How its made and how do they do it are real gems hidden away.
But the loss of Dave ja vu in favour of Really is intellectual vandalism.
Any reccomendations for a good freeview + box anyone

Humax HDR Fox-T2 works for me so far (only had it up and running for a fortnight). Good review on Ricability, as well as recommended by lots of people who have it.

Dave is now missing from Freeview on the Tacolneston transmitter.
All other channels on the same mux are available.
This is NOT a signal strength issue.
Retune done several times.
Am technically savvy so it isn't a user problem; it's the transmission (or an unpublished change like the recent BBC Four one) so why is Dave no longer transmitted?

Richard Baguley: Dave is still being transmitted from all transmitters, it is actually the same datastream from all transmitters, a single channel can't go missing from a multiplex.
You should do this My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound or the channel line up is wrong | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice if you have a problem with the channel line up.

Hello,
I am given to understand that Yesterday, Film4 and a couple
of other stations are not available through the Oxford transmitter. I receive my viewing through Oxford.
When will I be back to normal?
Thank you,
Mike Robinson

Janet Pope: Unfortunately these channels are carried within the same groups of channels - multiplexes - as channels you probably do want. There are some on each of the commercial multiplexes.
You can delete them from the channel list if your box or TV provides that feature. If not, you can create a Favourites list on many boxes or TVs, and only include the channels you want to access on that list.
If you want to make sure, boxes should have 'parental control' features. On my Humax PVR-9200T, you can select an age limit, and any programmes transmitted with an age limit higher than that require you to enter a PIN to watch them. It does require the broadcaster to label the programmes correctly - I've never used the feature so I don't know how accurate they are. Check the TV or box's manual to find out how to enable parental control.
If you delete channels or set up a favourites list, check the manual to find out how to ensure that only you can reset or retune the TV/box, or how to lock it to only show that favourites list.

Janet, unfortunately this is sad reality of modern technology and demands (apparently); always pushing the limits of what can be got away-with.
Mike has given a good answer with the options available to you to make sure they are not listed with your normal channels.
Of course whenever your box/tv has a re-scan for changed or new channels you may have to go through the same procedure to check the unwanted channels do not appear. As Mike says, check the manual, or get help if it's not clear how to clear channels or set up and lock a customised list.
