Reigate transmitter works 16th-28th March 2011
Around 70,000 homes in Surrey will be effected by works on the Reigate transmitter over the next few weeks.
First, from the 16th-18th the transmitter will be off the air during the daytime to allow painting of the drum.
Following this, there will be a ten day period where other engineering work will reduce the power level from the transmitter.

Someone has to sort this out immediately. Consumers were not informed. What about the elderly who rely on the tv. I've got the day off today and was hoping to watch the Gold Cup. Who can I contact?

Can we please informed what time the signal is due to come back on? As with other comments,it is appalling that we have not been informed of this. How many people will be out there trying to fix their aerials i wonder!?! Is there likely to be downtime over the weekend?

No signal in Merstham Surrey due to these works. The reception at the best of times is poor from the Reigate transmitter now its gone completely.
Can't believe they can completely switch you off like this whilst they paint the tower.
The joys of digital TV!

Yeah, they'd be better increasing the power from this transmitter, perhaps they should scrape the paint off! :-))

Another option if you have a loft aerial is to turn it round towards Crystal Palace and retune your TV.
