Boxes that do not support both 2k and 8k modes
Some boxes are having problems during switchover supporting both modes at the same times:- Sharp TU-R160H
- Humax 9200T
- Thomson DTi 1000
The workaround appears to be to add the "8k" channel manually (C62 for Selkirk, for example) and then to do this procedure after switchover is complete: My Freeview box has no EPG, is missing Film4, Channel 4+1, no sound on ITV3 or the channel line up is wrong - ukfree.tv - independent digital television and switchover advice, since 2002
This is on top of the boxes that could not cope with the changes to the Network Information Table (NIT): Daewoo DS608P, Labgear DTT100, Triax DVB 2000T, Portland DP100 and these VCR/STBs: Daewoo SV900, Bush IDVCR01

Steve P: I am running under the assumption that Diane King can afford one, she didn't mention that she had no budget.

Technia STBWS1AW09 doesn't seem to support the switchover either.

i have retuned my television but it has only picked up 20 tv channels and 11 radio stations. Is this a problem with my ariel. i have not changed my ariel in the last 15 years. It is pointing towards the Allesley transmitter.

Brendan: It should be appreciated that the transmitter in question is only a Freeview PSB (Public services broadcast) station operating with three multiplexes, and as such you will only receive BBC1 / ITV1(Ch4/Ch5 etc) as well as the HD services.
This situation will not change.

I have a powered splitter to three TVs, everything worked well before the digital switchover, now can receive no programmes on the Sony Bravia and hardly any programmes on the other 2

Ann - you HAVE retuned?
You powered splitter may be too powerful. Try without it - or adjust the amplification (gain) if you can.

I have a Toshiba 17WLT46B integrated digital TV which stopped working completely at the final switchover. The tv cannot find any channels when doing a search (manual or auto)so its now totally useless. After oontacting Toshiba numerous times and being given different answers ranging from the usual 'try retuning it' to 'The tv has an old style tuner which wont pick up the new digital signal'(even though the instruction manual says all I need to do at switchover is to retune). They are now telling me my tv is broken and I should get it repaired. Its a bit stange that it 'broke' at exactly the same time the digital switchover finished. Other tvs in my house are all fine, anyone had similar probs? The tv is about 5 years old.

Thanks Steve B, I couldn't work out which way to alter the gain on the boosted splitter, so took it out of the equation. Bought a simple aerial splitter and now have no promblems with reception. A acse of too much power as Briantist said earlier.

I have a Digilogic DSTB5000 Freeview Receiver for which the remote control is lost. If I replace the remote, is this type of receiver still operational after digital switchover? Postcode B27 6LP (Sutton Coldfield transmitter).
By the way, I had a Pace freeview receiver which is no longer operational. Lucky me!
